I previously worked for The Pennsylvania State University as a Research Technologist/Lab Manager at the Center for Language Science (CLS), an interdisciplinary research group, in State College, PA. I am very motivated to be involved in community engagement and outreach, as well as I worked to provide research assistance, especially when it comes to interdisciplinary linguistic studies and language exchange.
As a human research technologist, I had various tasks including assistance with behavioral and other forms of psycholinguistic research conducted within the CLS's 15 research laboratories, management of laboratory supplies and NSF PIRE research grant equipment, creating and compiling documentation and protocol on various research-related topics, produce experimental stimuli in software like Qualtrics Gorilla, experimental design in E-Prime and R, and complete data analysis in PRAAT. I also have experience with Python.
While at Penn State University as an undergraduate student, I received my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, and my Bachelor's of Arts in Letters, Arts, and Sciences, as well as a minor in Chinese Language. I am currently pursuing graduate studies at Youngstown State University. I have received my Masters of Education in Intervention Services, and am now working to receive my Ed.S. in School Psychology.

Course Instructor and Head Teaching Assistant
I taught a supplemental course to an Introductory Developmental Psychology class, where I received an Erickson Discovery Grant, and was able to collect data from the supplemental course students, who were participants in the related research study. The course is entitled: C.R.E.A.T.E. Meaningful Learning: A Strategic Investigation of the Pedagogical Efficacy of Primary Literature-Based Undergraduate Education in Psychology (PSYCH 296). Furthermore I served for three semesters as the Head Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Psych 212, where I participated in curriculum development, conducted feature presentations during class time, headed review sessions, and held office hours for students.
Spent a Year Abroad in China
I participated in a CIEE study abroad program (China in a Global Context), where I spent five months in Shanghai, China, learning both Mandarin Chinese and culture. I then spent a summer in Beijing, China at Beijing Normal University, conducting an independent research study on the influence of speakers' physical appearance on accented speech comprehension. This research was supported by an NSF PIRE grant. I used my research findings from this study to write my honors thesis, and received honors in Psychology, from the Schreyer Honors College.
I also was a Paterno Fellow at Penn State, receiving further honors in Psychology and Letters, Arts, and Sciences and pursued advanced coursework, a thesis, an abroad studying experience, and an internship as well as other leadership opportunities.
Studied Abroad in Cambodia
I studied abroad three years in a row over spring break, in Siem Reap, Cambodia as part of a Psych 212: Introduction to Developmental Psychology embedded program at Penn State (Psych 299: Exploring Early Childhood Education in Cambodia) and wrote a comprehensive analysis of education in Cambodia based on a literature review and experience in the field while abroad.
Served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
I assisted with research as an undergraduate in the Cognition, Affect, and Temperament lab under Koraly Perez-Edgar, PhD, and in the Bilingualism and Language Development lab under Janet van Hell, PhD
Completed an Internship at the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County
In the summer of 2018, I completed 150 hours of internship at the crisis shelter in my hometown, assisting therapists in providing services like group and art therapy to clients, led weekly house meetings, and created public summer outreach camps for those at the shelter and the general public.

My Personal Interests
I really value the ability to have time for hobbies. In my free time, I enjoy freelance voice acting, photography, and playing video games. I also love to play ukulele and violin, and spend time taking figure skating lessons! I enjoy traveling where and whenever I can, and love to be outside exploring nature.
